FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme) is a public body supporting financial stability in the UK, recognised and respected by consumers, regulators, and global peers. Following an open tender, FSCS entrusted Peldon Rose to design and build its new 18,367 sq ft workplace in the St Botolph Building in the City of London.
The partnership delivered a highly functional, inclusive office that reflects FSCS’ mission to offer strong financial protection for customers, with the workplace achieving a SKA Silver rating.
Peldon Rose structured the design layout around the concept of the safety net, a metaphor for FSCS itself as a body that supports those in financial need. Front and back of house areas are cleverly segmented with access control to ensure a high level of security as well as fluid flow of movement throughout the staff zones. This layer of security acts as a metaphorical net, reflecting the protection the FSCS provides to the public as a reliable and secure presence.
FSCS is a brand built on trust and customer protection and Peldon Rose designed the workplace to reflect these values. The team integrated carefully considered products that are durable, timeless, and robust.
The colour palette and finishes support neurodiverse needs with an array of textures and tones that offer both stimulation and peace. Neutral tones allow brand colours to shine, carving a strong sense of identity that flows throughout the workplace.
The partnership with FSCS was built on trust and collaboration, which flowed through to an exceptionally smooth construction phase and snag-free delivery. Centred around flow, functionality, and technological capability, the new workplace delivers a great experience for staff and clients.
