Guidewire is a specialist software company headquartered in San Mateo, California, providing innovative, technology‑driven solutions to insurance sector clients worldwide. To enhance its workplace and be closer to customers, Guidewire relocated its London office to the MURO building in the City of London.
This new workplace needed to be a high-quality space offering an outstanding experience for employees and clients; a place to be proud of. Guidewire engaged Peldon Rose to deliver a turnkey office space, collaborating with MOLA Architecture to bring the Cat A to Cat B conversion to fruition.
Peldon Rose came on board with extensive local market expertise to ensure the design could be achieved within budget. Trust was central to the project. The team went the extra mile to bridge Dublin-based Guidewire’s geographical distance, becoming its local eyes and ears to execute the design with all regulations applying to the City of London.
Local supply chain knowledge proved essential to bringing the workplace to life. Peldon Rose re-specified finishes to ensure cost and procurement lead times were within scope, without compromising on quality. These new elements aligned seamlessly with the design scheme, including tiling inspired by the building’s overall visual language.
Guidewire’s new workplace reflects its commitment to providing an exceptional employee experience. The office is organised into two zones: a striking front‑of‑house that delivers a “proud to work here” moment on arrival, and an employee area with open‑plan desking, dynamic social spaces, and meeting rooms.
Open plan areas are permeated by biophilia and abundant natural light. Acoustic ceiling fins, grids, and partitions combine to punctuate the spaces with dimension, variety, and striking geometric forms. The breakout area is a multi-functional space that adapts to the user, simultaneously serving as a kitchen, all-hands area, and bar, with a large TV screen that adapts to any occasion.
Speed gates segment client-facing zones and secure employee areas, allowing for an uninterrupted employee experience and enhanced workflow. Peldon Rose worked carefully to segment the two areas in accordance with building control, ensuring compliance alongside a high aesthetic standard.
The front‑of‑house creates a strong first impression through a warm, cohesive palette where floor tiles, acoustic felt, and timber slats work in concert. Opposite reception, a commissioned mural by Aches, an independent Dublin artist, drawing on Guidewire’s product identities—injects vibrant colour and energy.
Spanning the length of the wall and visible from the boardroom, it balances neutral finishes and complements the ceiling’s acoustic fins to give the space its own distinct character.
The project is a testament to the team’s collaborative propensity and project management expertise. Peldon Rose ensured the client, architect, and wider project team were aligned, enabling seamless delivery.
Guidewire’s new workplace is a physical manifestation of its brand identity, where every space, every finish, every design feature works to create an exceptional experience.
This project showcases collaborative execution and disciplined project management. Peldon Rose kept the client, architect, and wider team aligned from briefing through handover, so every space, finish, and design move contributes to a high‑quality workplace that expresses Guidewire’s brand and supports how people work.
