Exhale: The Insights Lounge designed by Peldon Rose
Exhale is a space that adapts to the moment. Blending digital surfaces, sensory design, and thoughtful materiality, the lounge responds to people, not pre-sets. Experience it at Workspace Design Show 2026.
Connected Realities, the theme of Workspace Design Show 2026 asks how physical space and digital systems are reshaping the way we work.
When designing our Insights Lounge, we began by exploring how technology can make interiors more responsive to the moments they host. Where digital tools not only meet but quietly enhance physical space, enabling atmosphere and purpose to shift without losing presence.
Doing more with less
As the demands placed on workplaces continue to grow, adaptability becomes essential. Offices need to support focus, collaboration, pause, and performance all within the same footprint, often within the same hour.
Buildings may be static. Experience does not need to be. By using technology to create temporary atmospheres, spaces can change in energy without being permanently fixed. This creates choice. A setting that supports lively exchange can soften into one that encourages calm focus, allowing environments to respond to different tasks. This flexibility extends longevity, keeping spaces relevant without constant rebuilds.
Our Insights Lounge at Workspace Design Show is our response to this challenge. Designed to flex with the programme it hosts, the space supports deep focus during talks and meaningful restoration in between.
Designing around the human experience
Every design decision began with the experience we wanted the audience to have.
The Insights Lounge will host panel discussions that require sustained attention and deep listening. During these moments, the space needed to feel like a refuge from the wider show. Calm, neutral and free from unnecessary distraction, it allows attention to settle on the conversations unfolding on stage.
Between sessions, the need shifts. With limited time to reset, the pavilion must support meaningful rest without requiring people to step away. These moments are not just the absence of activity but an active rest that encourages our brains to reflect, consolidate, and then reengage.
Subtle changes in light, sound, colour and scent gently re-tune the space, guiding audience attention from a state of focus into moments of reflection and back again. By engaging the senses, the environment supports these cognitive shifts without relying on permanent change.
