Delivering a purpose-built educational campus for OneSchool Global

OneSchool Global is a forward thinking educational institution offering students a holistic, self-directed learning experience. Its global network spans over 8,000 students and 120 campuses across 20 countries.
Following a decision to consolidate its two Coventry campuses under one roof, OneSchool Global purchased a new building spanning over 50,000 sq ft in Coventry’s Prologis Park, seeking to create an exceptional new home for students and staff.
It engaged Peldon Rose to deliver the multi-faceted project, with the team coming on board to lead simultaneous works across two floors on a fast-track programme. The result is a high-quality campus supporting modern learning, a place where technology and collaboration underpin a vibrant educational experience.
Undertaking a change of use concersion to deliver a multi-level campus
The multi-level campus comprises educational facilities, including high-quality food tech rooms and science labs, and staff amenities to enhance the teaching experience. Peldon Rose took control of the entire building to deliver a cascade of works across multiple floors, ensuring strict adherence to building control regulations, including a change of use from commercial to education.
Previously a light industrial building, the premises required a complete conversion to meet education sector compliance, requiring the team to manage a complete replacement of the mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems as well as major structural changes such as the implementation of additional steelwork to accommodate each new building component.
Peldon Rose added a new staircase, entrance, and folding walls, each of which required extensive new steelwork. New M&E had to meet education sector building requirements, with the team implementing completely new systems to ensure adherence to the change of use requirement.
High-quality security and safety protocols were imperative. The team placed careful consideration to delivering comprehensive security systems including access control, CCTV, a full integrated building lockdown system, and other external works.
Robust expertise to deliver a fast-track design and build programme
Peldon Rose navigated a tight programme to deliver OneSchool Global’s new campus in time for the start of the school term in January. To achieve this, the team put forward a methodology allowing for early commencement on site, putting significant resource behind the simultaneous fit out of each of the three floors.
Early stages required the team to navigate concurrent external recladding works as well as finding a temporary power solution within the building. Delivery required adaptability and robust expertise to ensure the facility was operational in time for the new school year, with the team going the extra mile to meet that imperative.
Peldon Rose demonstrated versatile expertise to deliver high-quality educational facilities on the ground and first floors as well as OneSchool Global’s UK head office on the second floor. The team placed emphasis on flow and functionality to support a modern educational framework with a strong focus on digital learning.
