An update across our live project sites

24 April 2020. News.

We recently suspended the majority of our sites following risk assessments related to working safely, efficiently, and challenges within the supply chain. Since then, the situation has become clearer with further guidance from the Government, and we have been able to re-mobilise sites which were suspended.

Guidance from the Government and Construction Leadership Council and the Secretary of State stated, where work can be done so in a safe environment, construction works should continue.
The Construction Leadership Council followed up with a set of Site Operation Procedures supporting the Government’s direction, which provided clear safety guidance and reiterated the importance of the construction industry remaining live to support the UK economy.

What does this mean for Peldon Rose?

This period gave us the opportunity to re-plan how the works can be delivered within a safe environment, revise work methods and re-programme projects where necessary. We will continue to be innovative in our ways of working, to minimise the impact on timelines due to any inefficiencies caused by working within COVID-19 guidelines.

What safety measures have been put in place?

We will continue to adapt our ways of working, following Government and Public Health England guidance to mitigate the risks involved. So far, we have implemented:

• Bespoke COVID-19 Site Operating Procedures in line with the Construction Industry Council and HSE guidelines

• Revised task specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements

• Reduced number of operatives on site at any one time

• Strict cleaning regimes

• Increased PPE across all sites

• Increased site signage and safety videos

The future we are living in is an ever-evolving world, requiring us to process and respond to guidance daily. Our priority is to keep our team and industry partners safe, well and motivated during what is a challenging time for us all.
