A leading global rig design specialist challenged Peldon Rose to create an innovative new workspace that not only reflected their brand, but also communicated the company’s energy and expertise in engineering some of the world’s safest and most efficient drilling rigs.
They had been in their previous offices in Old Street for some time and, as these were scheduled for redevelopment, they wanted to take the opportunity to transform the working environment for their employees and make them proud of the company’s heritage and achievements.
Using the oil industry as a key theme throughout, we created an exceptional design with stunning rig imagery, centred on their design capability and bringing in the company’s core values whilst emphasising their corporate palette. These graphics help to create a more unified office as every part of the space is a positive reflection of the company’s goals.
A stand out feature is the kitchen which is created from corrugated steel and lacquered panels and set against a North Sea backdrop. Here we created a unique breakfast bar as in an enjoyable informal space to encourage staff collaboration and openness. With such a large office capacity, having a well-equipped central kitchen allows staff to prepare meals, hot drinks and also operate as hub for the office. Surrounded by comfortable seating, staff can easily enjoy the space without any restrictions.
Through detailed workplace analysis, we introduced flexible meeting spaces and a new way of working. By installing high-backed sofa booths and other relaxed seating areas, staff are to work away from their desks or hold smaller meetings in communal spaces. The workplace environment is open plan, promoting ease of communication whilst truly reflecting their culture. Our furniture team installed Techo and Orangebox furniture throughout.
