After outgrowing their Putney office, legal healthcare firm Capsticks LLP selected a new workspace in the heart of Wimbledon. Naturally, as we were just down the road, we went straight round to go meet them and discuss how we could help them achieve the energetic, open-plan office space they wanted for their office at St George’s House.
As a nod to Capsticks’ roots in healthcare, we chose a palette of subtle green tones, complemented by walnut and maple timbers. The design – complete with furniture from Herman Miller and Brunner – creates a restful, calming environment for busy staff.
Escaping the regimented feel of some open-plan offices, our layout drives energy through the workspace and gives people their own special space. The open-plan areas flow into strong corporate meeting spaces with a highly-polished formal reception area. And for the times when lawyers need more privacy, we included plenty of quiet areas.
To help them attract and retain the best staff, Capsticks invested in well-being. To encourage their staff to have a healthy work/life balance they installed over 50 bike racks as well as extensive changing facilities with showers and lockers.
Acoustics play a big role within office design for all our legal sectors due to their enhanced need for privacy and confidential nature of their work. For Capsticks LLP we ensured that noise transfer was limited in their office through enhanced soundproofing, clever use of soft furnishings and overhead acoustic panels within meeting rooms which are not only practical but make a great design feature.
