Peldon Rose were delighted to be selected by Interface as a showcase business for their ‘Beautiful Thinking’ campaign which looks at how biophilic design enhances the workplace. Interface, who are the world's largest manufacturer of commercial carpet tiles, have long been associated with unlocking true sustainability through ingenious design and innovation. At Peldon Rose we have used Interface in many of the workplaces we’ve created including the award-winning offices of Essence, Friends of the Earth and JustGiving.

Our Project Director Steve Taylor and Project Designer Ruth Hartley Hoad worked alongside Interface in the ‘Beautiful Thinking’ campaign, exploring how we can take inspiration from natural surroundings to create inspirational spaces which help to attract and retain talent as well as enhance employee morale, well-being and productivity. Steve Taylor explains: “The incorporation of nature-inspired materials and elements can help create more positive working environments that stimulate the senses – increasing focus and productivity, sparking creativity and reducing stress.”

The national #BeautifulThinking campaign included a Twitter Q&A session, where Steve took over at @InterfaceInc and answered questions on biophilc office design. Steve’s answers included “We have always championed offices which put the health of employees first, both physically & mentally. Biophilic design offers the perfect opportunity to further improve how we do this, helping us reconnect people with nature. Technology has freed us from the shackles of static workplaces and allowed us to be more creative with our office concepts.”
