Olympics inspire ‘Champions of a healthy office’

15 August 2016. News.

Three of the Peldon Rose triathlon team were out in force at Dorney Lake, Eton Dorney on Sunday 14th August to compete in the Human Races Diamond Tri.

Taking inspiration from the Brownlee brothers, Benjamin Murray, Alan Jamieson and Tim Kirkman donned their tri suits and wetsuits to compete around the course which was home to several events during the London 2012 Olympic games. Joining them was Tim’s daughter Sophia who competed in the 11-14yrs age group as well as Tim’s wife Nicki in her role as our Peldon Rose triathlon coach.

The Peldon Rose ‘Swimmers, cyclists and runners’ turned in some great performances with Sophia leading the charge, taking bronze medal in her age group. Benjamin, in his first Olympic triathlon, completing the course in an impressive 3hrs 12mins, and Alan just pipped Tim to the line in the sprint triathlon, clocking up a time of 1hr 28mins.

As this was Benjamin’s first Olympic triathlon he decided it worthy to set up a JustGiving page and has raised £325 for our charity of the year – the mental health charity Mind.

Congratulations to our four triathletes – true champions of a healthy office!
