Being a good Dementia Friend

17 December 2015. News.

We’re a friendly bunch here at Peldon Rose and so it was only a matter of time until we built on our knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s Society to officially become Dementia Friends.

Guided by the fantastic Seema Chopra from Alzheimer’s Society, we took part in an interactive workshop to learn more about what it's like to live with dementia and what actions we can take to be more dementia aware and considerate of those who live from the disease.

The Dementia Friends workshop was our final activity with Alzheimer’s Society who we supported throughout 2015. We raised over £25,000 for them but equally important was raising awareness of dementia and the great work and services charities like theirs provide.

Benjamin Murray, Charity Chair and Head of Marketing at Peldon Rose says: “It’s be a real privilege to support Alzheimer’s Society in 2015 and we’ve had many highlights. My two have been championing Dementia Awareness Week outside Wimbledon Station and our abseil down ArcelorMittal Orbit in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. Standing outside the station with leaflets and collection buckets was certainly less daunting than launching off the Orbit at 376 feet!”

Thank you to everyone who donated money and joined us in fundraising this year. We had a blast and couldn’t have done it without you.
